Health of the People & Environment in L. Victoria(HOPELVB)
ECO and Pathfinder International/Uganda and Kenya implemented the Health of People and the Environment in the Lake Victoria Basin (HoPE-LVB) project with funding support from the MacArthur Foundation, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and USAID’s Office of Population and Reproductive Health from 2011 -2014.
The project and model was tested and now being up scaled .It integrates population, health, and conservation/environment (PHE) interventions with the goal of reducing threats to biodiversity conservation and ecosystem degradation while simultaneously increasing access to and utilization of family planning (FP) and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services as a means of improving maternal and child health (MCH) in targeted communities.
The project is implemented in select communities/parishes within Wakiso (Busii & Zinga Islands) and Mayuge (Jagusi & Bwondha) Districts in Uganda and Kisumu in Kenya.
