Summary of Achievements/impact
ECO provided technical support to the 2 youth nurseries: through capacity building to manage their own nurseries, in terms of seed selection, sowing, tendering. ECO conducted the process for developing the District Environmental Action Plan for Terego district. ECO provided technical support through 65 multipliers to the individual and community wood lot farmers. The technical support included advice given to farmers on farm for: ring weeding, protection against fires & application of soil water conservation measures. The multipliers regularly engaged farmers who received fruit seedlings at house hold level and provided technical support on practices like: protection from domestic animals, watering, mulching and control of pests and diseases. The trained small holder farmers established wood lots in Tika on 9 acres which they managed well. Some of the farmers trained were multipliers who provided technical skills to the group.
