To improve the livelihoods of rural smallholder farmers in the midst of climate change by enhancing resilience and contributing to climate change mitigation.
Project Outcomes
Implemented from June 2014 – 2015, in Losimit Village, Lolachat Sub-County, Pian County, Nakapiripirit District, Karamoja Sub-region, Uganda the project had the following outcomes;
A model garden was successfully established, showcasing integrated agroecological practices.
Installation of a drip irrigation system that enhanced year-round vegetable and crop production.
Training and capacity-building for 36 community members on climate-smart agriculture practices.
Establishment of a Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA), improving financial resilience and supporting smallholder farmers’ livelihoods.
Sharing of knowledge with neighboring communities, extending the project’s impact beyond the immediate beneficiaries.
Empowerment of women through leadership and involvement in key climate adaptation activities.
