Objectives

  1. To help poor people in rural Uganda increase their livelihood options while fighting environmental degradation and climate change
  2. To increase access to improved health, clean and safe drinking water and sanitation in rural and underserved communities in Uganda.
  3. To promote good governance in the management of natural and public resources through transparency and accountability mechanisms in Uganda.
  4. To promote sustainable agriculture to reduce household poverty and food insecurity in Uganda.

Why this work?

Despite a growing awareness of Africans' vulnerability to climate change, there is relatively little empirical evidence published and low level of awareness about the effects of population dynamics on climate change in the horn of Africa. Population issues are critical to understanding climate change and its consequences.
